MICRONESIA HEALTH CLINIC
Walker Warner Architects teamed up with Oceania Community Health, GFDS Engineers and Northstar Woodworks on a pro bono assignment to design a community health center located on the remote island of Fatharai, part of the Ulithi Atoll of Micronesia. The island community lost its health dispensary in 2003 due to a typhoon. The new clinic includes medical examination rooms, a birthing center, and offices. In addition, the structure is designed to serve as a storm shelter during future typhoons.
